What is an Echocardiogram?
An echocardiogram is an ultrasound study of your heart. It enables assessment of the structure and function of your heart and valves.
How long does it take?
It will take around 40minutes.
Preparation
To perform the test, we need to place the echo probe on your chest. For this to occur, you will be provided with a gown that will allow access. Gel is applied to the probe to facilitate imaging. Electrocardiogram dots are applied to the chest.
Risks
There are no risks of the procedure.
Results
The results will be reported by Dr M Premaratne and sent to your referring Physician.
